Back on My Feet seeks to revolutionize the way society approaches homelessness. We combat homelessness through the power of fitness, community support and essential employment and housing resources. Our unique model demonstrates that if you first restore confidence, strength and self-esteem, individuals are better equipped to tackle the road ahead.
Join us on the road. Circle Up volunteers run, jog, or walk alongside Back on My Feet members at our NYC sites in the early morning hours, three days a week. You don't need to be a fast runner — you just need to show up and meet members where they are at.
As a Circle Up Volunteer, you become a consistent, trusted presence in a member's week. You run alongside people who are working hard to rebuild their lives, and in doing so, you help build the accountability, encouragement, and sense of community that makes our program work.
Sessions take place across our active NYC sites, including Astoria, the Bowery, Brooklyn, and beyond.
Volunteers can commit once a week, every other week, or more frequently — the schedule is flexible, but reliability is what matters most. New volunteers are paired with an experienced team member for their first sessions to ensure a smooth and welcoming introduction to the team.
