- Committed to the mission and vision of New Life CDC, and connected with the missional and emotional health values of New Life Fellowship (NLF), our most significant partner and funder.
- Demonstrates a heart for the local Elmhurst/Corona community.
- Demonstrates deep respect and care for community members facing systemic challenges.
- Has professional skills and/or lived expertise in the following areas to strengthen organizational health and cultural relevance.
- Finance: Budgeting, audits, and financial planning.
- Development and Fundraising: Donor cultivation and grant writing.
- Legal: Compliance, contracts, and governance.
- Program Area Experts: Education, Youth Development, Health Care, Housing and Homelessness, Social Work, Immigration
- Social Justice and Advocacy: Supporting ongoing New Life CDC program initiatives; Strengthening relationships with local government and advancing systemic change.
- Lived Experiences in the Local Community: Community member living, working, and/or worshipping in Elmhurst/Corona
Commitment: About 4-10 hours per month to include attending quarterly board meetings, plus committee meetings, and one annual retreat; reviewing materials in advance; attending special events and fundraisers; and dedicating additional hours for committee work, strategic planning sessions, and site visits. Board members serve a 2 year commitment, with members often serving multiple consecutive terms.
